(Dr.) Brij Kishore Sharma is an eminent academician, education administrator, and science advocate with decades of distinguished service in higher education and research. He retired as Senior Professor of Zoology and also served as Joint Director, Department of Higher Education, Government of Rajasthan. Dr. Sharma has contributed extensively to academic policy and quality reforms as Former Member Secretary of the State Level Quality Assurance Cell (SLQAC) and Former Member of the Rajasthan State Higher Education Council (RSHEC). At the national level, he currently serves as National Convener, Higher Education Coordination Cell, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sansthan, Jaipur, and Jaipur District Convener of Vigyan Bharati, Rajasthan, actively promoting scientific temper and educational development. He played a significant role in higher education reform as a core committee member constituted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (2010–2014). His contributions were instrumental in the historic nationwide discontinuation of animal dissections and experimentation in life sciences education across Indian universities and colleges in 2014. Dr. Sharma is a Life Member of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) and is associated internationally with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Switzerland, and the Society for Conservation Biology, Washington DC. With his vast experience in education, research, policy development, and scientific outreach, Dr. Brij Kishore Sharma’s association as Patron of New India Trust provides valuable guidance and inspiration to the Trust’s mission of nation building, citizen empowerment, and educational transformation.
