Self-visualization is the act of defining the future self, based on present knowledge of goals, hopes, and dreams. This mental exercise is focused on being both realistic and balancing the good outcomes with the pressing challenges and negative outcomes.

Positive visualization is a technique to master real world situations and achieve goals by using the power of positive thinking. Think of positive visualization as a “mental rehearsal” that we carry out in our minds. It is like a daydream but more focused on the goals that we want to achieve.

Visualization helps us to use more of our right brain and integrate its functioning into the left brain functions.

To perform visualization, picture your best possible self in as much detail as possible. Think of a scene that your best possible self might find themselves in, and imagine the sights, sounds, and feelings you would experience. Tip: It's common to feel distracted during visualization

Visualization is simply a mental practice of imagining or meditating, with a particular focus on imagery. As opposed to silent meditation, where you let go and don't intentionally guide your thoughts, visualization is about consciously creating mental images.

Visualizing Success and Envisioning your Future Self

Close your eyes. Think of your goal to achieve. Slowly come in touch with your Future, Successful Self- your own Better Version, that will already have accomplished your desired goal. What will it feel like if you will have achieved that deeply desired state of mind?

Meditation can calm your nervous system whereas visualization can reprogram it. Meditation de-excites the nervous system in a way that gives the body rest, which is even deeper than sleep. This rest helps the body heal itself from many things, including physical ailments, but most commonly from stress.
